Milking Assistant/general farm worker

Farm Description:

- A milking herd of 330 Holstein/Freisian cows
- on average about 30 unweaned calves to feed
- All year round calving, with our own replacements
- Milking 3 times a day : 5am to 9am, 1pm to 5pm, 8pm to 10pm
-we use RMS
- in the summer months all the cows are outside grazing, the high yielders receivingg buffer feed when required

Job Description
- We need someone to milk 2 weekends in each month as well as each morning
- You will be milking in a 2 man team
- In a 12:12 Herringbone parlour, that has the ACR release mechanism, the ADF cluster post dip system and an ATL automatic feed system.
- The start date would Be asap
- we can supply accommodation


Skills Required
- milking experience is expected
- Calf Rearing
- proficiency with machinery I.e. Loadalls, scraper tractors, straw choppers and etc.
- good animal husbandry skills, and patience with livestock
- team working
- Reliability
- ability to use your initiative
