Description
Regrettable sale. I have had the car for about 3 years now, and done extensive work to the car.
Welding wise: New spring hangers, boot floor panel, engine bay floors, flitches, A-posts, rear valance, door bottom, rear inner arches, inner sill sections, replacement front wings, front crossmember and chassis legs. If I'd known the work I would have to do, I probably wouldn't have started it!!
The underside has been coated in Electrox (bloody good acid etch zinc primer, rust inhibitor, Google it), then given several coats of black stone chip. Like wise inside with white stone chip.
All the brakes and suspension has been gone through and refurbed or replaced. All standard.
Engine has been stripped, checked, and reassembled. NOT REBUILT THOUGH. Just a once over, gaskets, paint, decoke etc. Does run, but only for as long as fuel is in the bowl as pump needs new points (has been rebuilt), so is what it is.
All receipts included. This has cost be MUCH more than I am asking for it.
New clutch, front dampers, pedals and relay shafts with bushes.
All parts not in photo like bonnet, rear glass, bumpers, interior etc are included , but needs a new loom (complete new at ESM for £140 for what its worth). Needs a new heater too (although I wasn't going to bother having one to be honest).
Bad points: Door fit mainly. I admit I think I made a balls up when measuring before welding the A-posts and hinges, as I have had to make extra long shims for the hinges to the body, and extra long bolts to fit these. This may not bother you though, depends how original you want the car to be. (Just being honest as I can, most sellers wouldn't mention it at all)
My initial plan just was grey rattle can primer, leave the interior/carpets etc it came with and just get it mechanically up together and running for the summer, before I worried about the aesthetics.
Most of the money has been spent on the car already, its more lack of time, or at least divided time, which prompts my sale. I work and live away in the week, and only get chance to get to the garage a fortnight. I have too many other projects which interest me more, and an itch to travel, so I feel its time to make a choice. Would not need huge amounts more doing to get it running to be honest. I'd say 85% there, which, if you tot up the going rate for project car these days, (which come without any of the new gubbins this does don't forget!!) then its a steal. It would be most profitable for me to break it, but again, lack of time.
I have a Photobucket link with literally hundreds of pictures that I took throughout the restoration, message me and I will send you a link
