Description
Attractive antique victorian wing back fireside armchair for reupholstery.
An attractive victorian armchair. We date this chair to the late 19th century.
The chair sits on two short turned bun feet at the front and two short square section legs at the rear, all above later added ball castors.
The armrests continue up from the base and have been overstuffed to form the classic scroll arm shape. The sides of the armrests have been well padded.
The arm rests continue back to meet the wing back backrest. The top of the backrest has been overstuffed.
The side wings have been well padded. The seat base and back rest have been well padded and sprung. The seat comes with a loose seat cushion.
The chair is very comfortable to sit on, with the backrest being shaped to provide excellent support for the lower back.
The chair has an overall height of 41.5" (105cm), an overall width of 33" (84cm), an overall depth of 36" (92cm), a backrest height of 28" (71cm), a seat height of 18" (46cm), a seat width of 18.5" (47cm) and a seat depth of 24" (61cm).
The chair has a number of wear marks and different patches of material, making it a great reupholstery project.
This remains a very stylish and elegant victorian armchair. It is very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
